Companionship wanted: Waweru's gardening and a cup of tea
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Waweru is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Waweru, who's 73. Waweru lives alone in Kinondoni, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Waweru loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Thinking of you and your family, Joyce. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Kinondoni
