Companionship wanted: Satish's baking and a cup of tea
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that is all Satish is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Satish, who's 82. Satish lives alone in Hamilton, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Satish loves baking, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Wishing you the best, Shweta. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
hang in there, Shweta. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Essen.
sending good thoughts, Shweta. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Hamilton
