Dignity in old age: caring for Mustafa
Help Mustafa stay in his own home with eight months of part-time care.
🇪🇬 Egypt1,049 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 79. After a fall and hip fracture Mustafa can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Mustafa desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Mustafa worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $450 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $65
• Part-time carer (eight months): $310
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $75
Glad we found this place.

Praying for you, Imad. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Mumbai.
Wishing you peace. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Berlin.
You're not alone, Imad. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours.
Thanks for sharing this, Imad. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in São Paulo but we're thinking of you.
Best of luck, Imad. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
