Companionship wanted: Samuel's crossword puzzles and a cup of tea
Samuel lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Samuel, who's 86. Samuel lives alone in Sydney, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 341 kilometers away.
Samuel loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Keep going. This could happen to any of us. Greetings from Dundee
keep going, Thomas. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Allentown
Wishing you the best, Thomas. Hope the doctors have good news. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care
Thinking of you and your family. Hope the doctors have good news. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
Good luck, Thomas. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up.
