Companionship wanted: Juan's gardening and a cup of tea
Juan lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Juan, who's 76. Juan lives alone in Syracuse, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives several hours away.
Juan loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Thank you for reading my story.

Thanks for sharing this, Jun. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Palermo so I could bring a meal. All the best.
Stay strong. Hope the doctors have good news. We're a small family in Mangaluru but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Syracuse.
Keep going, Jun. Your post was clear and honest. Don't be hard on yourself for asking
Rooting for you, Jun. Hope this works out for you. My husband and I read this together. Blessings.
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My neighbor in Newcastle upon Tyne donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
Wishing Juan a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Badagry.
