Companionship wanted: Chantel's knitting and a cup of tea

Looking for a friendly person in Johannesburg to visit Chantel once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Chantel, who's 74. Chantel lives alone in Johannesburg, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives 499 kilometers away. Chantel loves knitting, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
