Rebuilding after the flood: the Hillcrest settlement needs your help
Neighbors in the Hillcrest settlement are rebuilding after the flood; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The flood hit the Hillcrest settlement on 6 February. My home was one of 70 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $960
• Clean water and purification supplies: $240
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $165
• Food parcels for displaced families: $280
• Tools and labor for repairs: $205

It's all in the list in the story. roofing sheets and timber is the big one at $960, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Fair thing to want to know.
