Companionship wanted: Brooks's opera and a cup of tea

Looking for a friendly person in Albany to visit Brooks once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Brooks, who's 76. Brooks lives alone in Albany, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives 679 kilometers away. Brooks loves opera, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
