Dignity in old age: caring for Dorin
Dorin, 89, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,650 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 89. After a diagnosis of dementia Dorin can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Dorin desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Dorin worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $190
• Part-time carer (three months): $1,300
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $160
