Clean streams for Taguig: restoring the Lotus wetland
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Lotus wetland needs $550 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world1,763 views
The Lotus wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This April, 46 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 153 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $550 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $320
• Tools and protective gear: $110
• Waste removal and skip hire: $75
• Signage and educational materials: $45
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thinking of you. More neighborhoods should do this. My neighbor in Bang Khen donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
great idea, hope you get there. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless
Sending love, Ismael. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Taguig.
