Tarragona
For twelve years I have run a laundry service in Tarragona. In May, a long illness and repossession took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $2,750 goes: • Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $1,500 • Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $550 • Shop repairs and licensing: $470 • Working capital for the first month: $230 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Óscar

Updates from Óscar

  1. Small update. $307 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.

  2. Update from Tarragona: the plan for working capital for the first month is now scheduled. We're at 3% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us. - Óscar

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($15 in total) I made the first payment toward initial stock: detergent and packaging. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Epe

I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Wish I lived closer to Boulogne-Billancourt so I could bring a meal. All the best.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Óscar

        • Óscar P. MaldonadoOwnerAnswer

Sure. The biggest one is replacing two washing machines and a dryer, $1,500. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Let me know if you want more detail.

Hang in there, Óscar. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
