Clean streams for Jakarta Selatan: restoring the Acacia hillside
Help us clean and replant the Acacia hillside before the March planting window closes.
🇮🇩 Indonesia557 views
The Acacia hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This November, 117 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 191 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $250 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $155
• Tools and protective gear: $60
• Waste removal and skip hire: $35
Thank you so much.

Updates from Satria
Thank you all. We're at 44% now ($110). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward tools and protective gear.
Update from Jakarta Selatan: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 26% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

Hope things get better soon, Satria. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Anaheim.
Sending good thoughts, Satria. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Please keep us posted.
Thinking of you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Jakarta Selatan.
Hope it all works out. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Jakarta Selatan
