Chantel needs a lift to Gqeberha General Hospital - can you help one day a week?
Chantel needs dialysis three times a week and has lost the ability to drive; volunteer drivers can each take one day.
🇿🇦 Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa737 views
Chantel has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to Gqeberha General Hospital alone. After a minor stroke, Chantel can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 29 km each way.
Chantel is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

- one weekly trip

Good luck, Aisha. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Sending strength. Hope this works out for you. Greetings from Cairo
stay strong, Aisha. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Stay strong. Hope the doctors have good news. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Gqeberha.
Wishing you peace, Aisha. Get well soon. Take care.
Wishing you the best, Aisha. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Rawalpindi!
