I'm caring for my father, who's 80. After a diagnosis of dementia Carter can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Carter desperately wants to stay at home. I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Carter worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $3,000 goes: • Part-time carer (six months): $2,350 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $400 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $250 Thank you so much. - Frank
