Freedom Park needs a community fridge - Tiffany's neighborhood project

Volunteers in San Diego are raising $3,200 for a community fridge at Freedom Park.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,200. It will serve about 164 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $3,200 goes: • Permits and inspections: $140 • Materials: $2,750 • Safety equipment and signage: $310 Thank you so much.
