Byaruhanga, my grandfather, passed away on 20 September after a road accident. He was 25 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $600 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 9 October. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Byaruhanga to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program. Where the $600 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $420 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $100 • Transport of the deceased: $30 • Memorial gathering for the family: $50 Thank you for reading my story. - Kioko

Rooting for you, Kioko. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.
