Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Oanh

Oanh uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Oanh has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Oanh can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Oanh's family will cook lunch for the team. I hope life is good to you.

  • Praying for you, Xuân. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Pune

    • Keep going, Xuân. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings!

      • Keep going, Xuân. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't be hard on yourself for asking

        • Sending love. Shared this with my family. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Tamale.

          • Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Nashville so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Thủ Đức.
