Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Kingsley
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Port Harcourt.
🇳🇬 Rivers, Nigeria1,315 views
Kingsley has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Kingsley can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Kingsley's family will cook lunch for the team.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

You're not alone. Shared it with a few friends. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day!
Sending strength. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings
This could happen to any of us. After 6 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care
Sending strength, Olumide. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I hope October is when things finally get easier. All the best.
Keep going. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 16 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care
Sending love, Olumide. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest.
Thinking of you and your family, Olumide. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless.
