I'm caring for my mother, who's 79. After a stroke last June Wangari can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Wangari desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Wangari worked all of her life as a schoolteacher, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $900 goes: • Part-time carer (four months): $670 • Medication and prescriptions: $90 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $30 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $110 Thank you so much.
