Let's build a free library and reading room together in Bandung
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $300 for materials.
🇮🇩 West Java, Indonesia987 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 106 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $195
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ahmad.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. materials comes first ($195) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
keep going, Ahmad. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up. Blessings.
Good luck, Ahmad. Hope you get there. Blessings.
Stay strong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.
