Care for Travis, 77: help cover a carer and medication in Auckland
Travis, 77, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $4,750 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 77. After a fall and hip fracture Travis can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Travis desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Travis worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $4,750 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $3,500
• Medication and prescriptions: $580
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $310
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $360
