I'm caring for me, who's 79. After a heart attack Todd can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Todd desperately wants to stay at home. I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Todd worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $5,300 goes: • Part-time carer (four months): $3,950 • Medication and prescriptions: $390 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $350 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $610 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
