Care for Mercy, 91: help cover a carer and medication in Ottawa
Mercy, 91, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $3,350 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 91. After a fall and hip fracture Mercy can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Mercy desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Mercy worked all of her life as a carpenter, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $3,350 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $2,450
• Medication and prescriptions: $260
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $390
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $250
I hope life is good to you.
