A service dog for Walker, an engineering corps veteran in Southampton
After ten years of service, Walker is raising funds for a trained service dog and handler course.
🇬🇧 Southampton, England, United Kingdom1,682 views
Ariana served ten years in the engineering corps and was discharged in 2023 with post-traumatic stress. She has been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place.
The plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote comes to $2,450.
Ariana is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Essential household items: $250
• Transport to appointments: $470
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,730

I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Southampton.
Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care.
