I'm caring for my father, who's 81. After a diagnosis of dementia Laurent can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Laurent desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Laurent worked all of his life as a seamstress, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $3,050 goes: • Medication and prescriptions: $450 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $350 • Part-time carer (eight months): $2,250 With deep gratitude, Nathalie

You're not alone. Hope the doctors have good news. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Mumbai
