Build a wheelchair ramp for Ivy in Greensboro
Help Ivy regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐บ๐ธ Greensboro, North Carolina, United States226 views
Ivy has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Ivy can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Ivy's family will cook lunch for the team.
I hope life is good to you.

Take care, Ezra. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like!
