Obuasi
Beatrice is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a law degree at Obuasi Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,000. The registrar has said Beatrice can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Beatrice has a 3.9 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Beatrice would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Beatrice isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $1,000 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $430 • Final term tuition: $490 • Exam and lab fees: $20 • Textbooks and materials: $60 Thank you so much. - Emmanuel

  • sending strength. Study hard! We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

    • Hope things get better soon. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless
