Back on our feet: Lúcia and two young children in Caxias do Sul
After a house fire, Lúcia is raising two young children alone and needs $1,050 to stay afloat for 3 months.

Since a house fire in January, I'm now raising two young children on my own. I work as a school kitchen assistant, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a dental nurse in the evenings, which will triple my income by May, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Money goes toward rent, groceries, after-school care and the cost of my course. I'll give a monthly update with receipts.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Groceries and school meals: $240
• Course fees and exam costs: $115
• Rent top-up: $695
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

How is Lúcia doing now?
Wishing you peace, Lúcia. I hope things turn around soon. It's not much but it's yours. God bless.
Rooting for you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We're a small family in Warangal but we're thinking of you.
hang in there, Lúcia. Shared this with my family. We're a small family in Caruaru but we're thinking of you. Greetings from Caruaru.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lúcia.
Groceries and school meals is $240 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Happy to explain more.
Thanks for sharing this, Lúcia. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Mandaue.
is there anything that isn't money that would help Lúcia?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about groceries and school meals, advice is welcome too. Thanks for asking.
Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. My neighbor in San Sebastián donated after I showed her your page.
I hope things turn around soon. Don't give up.
Looking forward to the next update. Love from Heraklion.
Hope things get better soon. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
