Alexa needs my tuk-tuk repaired to get back to work in New York
Alexa drives for a living in New York, and a broken transmission has stopped all income for 10 weeks.
🇺🇸 United States445 views
I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 10 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,900. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Towing and inspection: $125
• transmission replacement (parts): $1,450
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $325
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

keep going, Alexa. This could happen to any of us.
Praying for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

Best of luck. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Sent it to 33 people at work.
