Acacia Primary School needs a community garden - Stella's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Hialeah are raising $2,150 for a community garden at Acacia Primary School.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,150.
It will serve about 134 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Tools hire and delivery: $460
• Materials: $1,450
I hope life is good to you.

Take care, Stella. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings
