A youth football pitch for the Unity vacant lot: help our neighbors in Mesa
A community-led a youth football pitch at the Unity vacant lot that will serve 220 neighbors.
🇺🇸 United States3,093 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,650.
It will serve about 220 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Materials: $1,700
• Permits and inspections: $320
• Safety equipment and signage: $260
• Tools hire and delivery: $370
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Sending strength, Ezra. Hope this works out for you. Put this on a community board in Wudil this morning. God bless.
it takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Colombo.
rooting for you, Ezra. Shared it with a few friends. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out.
