A youth football pitch for the Union community hall: help our neighbors in Rochester
A community-led a youth football pitch at the Union community hall that will serve 294 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,300.
It will serve about 294 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Materials: $2,000
• Permits and inspections: $330
• Safety equipment and signage: $540
• Tools hire and delivery: $430
