A youth football pitch for the Lotus vacant lot: help our neighbors in Shinjuku
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $2,250 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $290, and the remaining cost is $2,250.
It will serve about 193 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Materials: $1,750
• Permits and inspections: $115
• Safety equipment and signage: $250
• Tools hire and delivery: $135
