A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Quezon City
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $200 for materials.
🇵🇭 Philippines1,444 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $200.
It will serve about 355 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $200 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
