A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Medan
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $550 for materials.
🇮🇩 Indonesia793 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 434 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $340
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $75
• Tools hire and delivery: $105
With deep gratitude,
Gita

Keep going, Gita. Great idea, hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.
Wishing you peace. Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in Ogbomosho but we're thinking of you.
