A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Ikeja
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $450 for materials.
🇳🇬 Nigeria725 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 409 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $340
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $20
Every share and every dollar helps.

Take care, Daniel. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Take care.
You're not alone, Daniel. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Quezon City this morning. All the best.
