Gwagwalada
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $65, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 187 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $240 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $75 Glad we found this place. - Rotimi
