A weekly visit for Souad, 76, who lives alone in Mecca
Souad lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Souad, who's 76. Souad lives alone in Mecca, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Souad loves old films, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Sending strength, Lubna. Looking forward to the next update. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day!
You're not alone, Lubna. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
Thinking of you and your family, Lubna. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Mecca
wishing you the best, Lubna. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
thinking of you and your family, Lubna. Your post was clear and honest. I have a 11 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
