A weekly visit for Silvia, 83, who lives alone in Barcelona
Silvia lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Silvia, who's 83. Silvia lives alone in Barcelona, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 383 kilometers away.
Silvia loves local history, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

rooting for you, Héctor. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 8 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Barcelona
I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Barcelona.
I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We're a small family in Rotterdam but we're thinking of you. Love from Rotterdam.
Thinking of you and your family. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless
Sending good thoughts. Wishing Silvia a smooth procedure and a full recovery. All the best
Keep going, Héctor. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Barcelona.
Sending love, Héctor. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Take care.
