A weekly visit for Ji-min, 78, who lives alone in Gangnam

Ji-min lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

Gangnam
I'm writing for my neighbor Ji-min, who's 78. Ji-min lives alone in Gangnam, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives 862 kilometers away. Ji-min loves old films, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Gangnam.
