Surgery fund for Efe: valve repair surgery in Awka
After severe cataracts in both eyes, Efe was cleared for valve repair surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In July I was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes. My surgeon at Awka General Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for October. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,400, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $850 short.
Doctors at Awka General Hospital told me severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without valve repair surgery. I work as a security guard, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,400 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a security guard have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
