A weekly ride to Sydney Regional Medical Center for Bilal
Could you drive Bilal to Sydney Regional Medical Center on Thursday? A rota of 6 drivers is forming.
🇦🇺 Sydney, New South Wales, Australia90 views
Bilal has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to Sydney Regional Medical Center alone. After surgery on their hand, Bilal can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 12 km each way.
Bilal is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Stay strong, Ahmed. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Sydney.
