Dinesh was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in June. The oncology team at Mumbai University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Dinesh is 37, worked as a shop owner until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mumbai University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,800 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150 • Scans and lab work: $200 • Transport to Mumbai University Hospital: $70 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $50 • Household costs while unable to work: $330 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
