A weekly ride to Jakarta Regional Medical Center for Dedi

A rota of drivers to Jakarta Regional Medical Center would keep Dedi on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Dedi has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to Jakarta Regional Medical Center alone. After a foot amputation, Dedi can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 18 km each way. Dedi is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Thinking of you, Wahyu. Your post was clear and honest.

    • good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Santos.

      • Good luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings!

hang in there, Wahyu. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
