A weekly ride to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center for Gihan

A rota of drivers to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center would keep Gihan on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Gihan has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center alone. After a foot amputation, Gihan can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 24 km each way. Gihan is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
