We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $450 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 357 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $330 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $55 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
