A skate park for Liberty Park: help our neighbors in Melbourne
A community-led a skate park at Liberty Park that will serve 549 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,200.
It will serve about 549 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $220
• Permits and inspections: $210
• Materials: $2,770
