A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Cluj-Napoca

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 433 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $650 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $95 • Permits and inspections: $110 • Materials: $445 With deep gratitude, Vasile
