Help Thilina keep the Community Pantry pantry stocked
The Community Pantry pantry in Galle is running low just as demand rises; $250 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Thursday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 226 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 31% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Galle market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $250 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $40
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $130
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
