Plant 4,700 native trees around Pioneer Creek in Fresno
Help us clean and replant Pioneer Creek before the November planting window closes.
🇺🇸 California, United States2,358 views
Pioneer Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 63 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 72 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $2,200 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,100
• Tools and protective gear: $490
• Waste removal and skip hire: $610
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Updates from Angelo
Thank you all. We're at 45% now ($981). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward native saplings and stakes.
We're at 23% thanks to 12 of you. I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

Best of luck, Angelo. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 18 people at work. Take care.
So sorry you're going through this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 8 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
Sending love, Angelo. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Hồ Chí Minh City.
this could happen to any of us. Greetings from Akron.
More neighborhoods should do this. Please keep us posted.
